Palo santo literally means "holy wood" in Spanish and it's traditionally burned as a ceremonial incense, similar to how bundles of white sage are used to "smudge." Unlike sage, however, palo santo has a much brighter, more floral sent, and burns much cleaner. It's one of my scents of choice. One stick can be lit several times and will last weeks or even months, depending on how frequently you use it.
